Day 85 Mission 1 Complete!

•January 7, 2009 • 14 Comments

Mission 1 is complete! I found a program to make decent before and after pictures. Finally the end to step one of a life long journey! I lost 31.2 lbs(14.2 kg) and just under 10% body fat! The work was hard, but extremely rewarding! I’m going to take a week or so off from the intense training and ready myself for the RTP TS!! I want to reread everything Adam has put together and make sure I have everything in order so I can go into it at a full sprint. I will still be eating healthy and doing some cardio so I don’t lose the progress I’ve made, but the two-a-day workouts are over for a week or two. Thanks again to everyone who encouraged me and kept me going when I really didn’t feel motivated. The blogging and accountability system that is in place here is the ONLY reason Mission 1 didn’t turn out like all the other diets I have tried in the past. Thank you everyone, and good luck with your transformations!

Day 62

•December 17, 2008 • 7 Comments

Today will be my last shirtless picture until January 5th or 6th. I am going on a 20 day shred until then. Thats when the biggest loser contest will be over. I’m not sure the exact day it will end but it’s one of those days. Until then I’m am going to eat perfect, and do two-a-days to shred the absolute most fat that I can. After that, my diet will change to eating more carbs and doing a lot more strength training than I am right now.

Has anyone ever seen an expresso fitness bike? It is an exercise bike that has a tv built into it that lets you ride on different trails and races. It’s pretty cool. Here is a link to a video about it:

Day 60 With before pics

•December 14, 2008 • 4 Comments

Sorry I haven’t been on here much but I’m working a lot of hours this week. I had one day off on Thursday and won’t be back home until Monday night. I don’t have Internet access here right now except on my phone. It makes it a real hassle to do a lot of typing. I’m still eating right and getting my workouts in. I’ll post again Monday. Good luck everyone.

Zero Day

Day 57

•December 11, 2008 • 3 Comments

I had a great day today! I got to spend some time with my family did a little bit of Christmas shopping. I finally got the Christmas lights put up on the house. I love the way they look, but can’t stand putting them up or taking them down. I guess that’s a cheap price to pay though for the end result.

I got in a pretty good workout today. I got a membership to the recreation center here since it’s snowy and icy out now. I don’t want to run on icy streets or in the cold. It’s pretty cheap. Only $10 per month and no contract! I did 20 minutes on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the eliptical, and the aerobic circuit training Carlos gave me. Thanks again Carlos, it’s really a great workout.

All 5 meals were on time, and about 2400 calories total.

Celina, you said you wanted to see some of my fire training. I don’t have any videos of it but here is a link to a video of the fire department I work for. I am in it at 2:10. I’m on the top of the ladder helping my rookie cut a hole in the roof to let the heat and fire out of the attic.

Day 55

•December 9, 2008 • 6 Comments

I missed my morning workout because I had fire training all day. I’ll get my evening workout started in an hour or so. I had a bagel and banana for breakfast, a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, an orange for a snack, and I just finished eating a steak and small baked potatoe.

With being sick and not working out as much as I’d like, my weight is starting to come back up. I went from 168 a few days ago to 172 today. Oh well, it’s not that much.

I’m getting ready to start a 20 day shred to finish off this 3 month biggest loser contest. I’m not sure the exact day it ends. It sometime around January 5. That will be the end of mission 1 and I’ll be ready to start mission 2. Mission 2 is going to focus more on building muscle not just losing fat. As soon as that 20 days starts I’m going to start posting daily weights and what I ate all day to give myself a little more accountability. Shred on everyone!

Day 53

•December 7, 2008 • 7 Comments

I’m starting to feel a little better today. This cold just won’t go away. I left work early yesterday to go to the doctor. He said my cold isn’t viral but bacterial so he gave me some antibiotics to hopefully clear it up. I did a three mile run in the morning and half of the circuit training workout Carlos gave me, but started to get light headed and dizzy. That’s when I decided to go home for the day. I shouldn’t be driving a huge fire truck like that!

Today I got in a three mile run. I was pretty tired and dragging so I skipped the circuit training until I’m feeling a little better. I’m still eating good and drinking lots of water, I just don’t feel ready to do much more than a little jogging or bike riding right now. Hope everyone else is doing great. Shred on!

Day 50

•December 4, 2008 • 4 Comments

I had a pretty good day today. I’m a little sore from HIT circuit training yesterday. I ran 3 1/2 miles and took a rest from weights today. I’ll be back at them tomorrow. I didn’t get a morning workout in because I was working EMS today, but I ate pretty well and got my evening workout in. Shred on everyone!

Day 48

•December 2, 2008 • 3 Comments

The last two days have been pretty good. I finally had a couple days off from work so I got to spend some good time with my family. Yesterday my wires family all came over and we had Thanksgiving again with them. I didn’t go crazy this time. I ate small portions and and didn’t over-do the carbs.

Today my daughter Marley got her first haircut! She did really well and didn’t fuss or cry. I had my second weigh in for the biggest loser contest today. I wish it would have been earlier in the morning to give me a more accurate weight. I had just finished eating and had drank quite a bit of water throughout the day so I was at 177 instead of around 170 like I should be.

I’ve been talking to Carlos in the last couple days and he’s been helping me with my shin splints. He’s also given me his zero impact aerobic cicuit training workout to try! I’ll be adding that into my routine starting tomorrow. Thanks again Carlos, you have a real wealth of fitness knowledge and I really appreciate your willingness to share it!

Shred On!

Day 46

•November 30, 2008 • 4 Comments

Wow the week has really gone by fast! I had a great yet not so great Thanksgiving. The family and food was awesome, but I ate more than I should have. I was going to try and eat smaller meals throughout the day but couldn’t pass it up when it was all hot and fresh. Oh well it’s only once a year. I’m also back to my two a day workouts, so it’s not like I let myself go until the new year. I went from 170lbs to 172lbs. Not too bad. I can have that back off in a couple days. Shred on!

Also, if you haven’t been by Suzettes blog yet, stop by and congratulate her on hitting day 600! Great job Suzette!

Day 43

•November 27, 2008 • 7 Comments

We went to the zoo again today and walked around for a few hours. I love going there with my family. It’s so relaxing, and getting to see how exited my daughter Marley gets at seeing the different animals is great. Not to mention the extra calories burned walking up and down all the hills.

I’m also back down to a 33 waist from a 36! I put some old jeans on today and they fit again! It’s awesome to see the results of all that hard work!

Not much else going on today. I took a break from the running bacause my chest cold is still bothering me a little. I’ll get up in the morning though and get in a good run. I’m going to need it with all the great Thanksgiving food! I’m using my reward meal tomorrow. I won’t be going crazy though. I’m going to have small portions, but can’t pass up one of the greatest meals of the year!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving without over-doing it! Shred on!
